Metallic Epoxy Floor Coatings DIY Garage

Metallic Epoxy Floor Coating for garages is a popular and attractive offering.  The most important part of performing an installation is the prep. DIY should consult with a reputable supplier for step by step instructions before starting.  Frankly, request info from someone who has installed a floor!

Although fairly easy to complete, there are a few differences vs. installing a standard epoxy floor coating system.

  • Starting with a relatively smooth floor is best
  • All imperfections, cracks and joints need to be filled and leveled
  • Two coats of primer are best
  • Use a "High Flow" epoxy binder, not just clear epoxy
  • Always order a bit more than you need
  • Extra hands make for easy work!

  1. My husband has been wanting to put epoxy on our garage floor. I really like your advice to get installation information from someone who has actually installed an epoxy floor. It seems like getting advice from someone with experience would be a good idea. Your pictures make it look like it would be relatively easy to install. http://www.floorshieldinc.com

  2. What an excellent post! Floor sanding is so thus useful. This helps in restoring floors while not replacement everything. And what's a lot of attention-grabbing regarding this, this could be finished low value.
